About me

I have a Ph.D. in Political Science from Johns Hopkins University, did a post-doc at the Max Planck Institute for International Law, and spent several years conducting research and teaching in leading research and academic institutions. About a year ago, I suffered from a burnout that made me leave institutional academia. I still love teaching and doing research, I just do not want to be part of the publish-or-perish grind that defines modern academia.

I am a curious, meticulous, and puzzle-driven International Relations expert with a deep knowledge of international institutions, informal learning, organizational hypocrisy, and pedagogy. I am interested in intercultural challenges, the gamification of education, and internet culture.

My Approach

My goal is to help you use your time in the most efficient way that you can. I care about freeing you up so that you can focus on the work that is original and that matters to you. I am thorough, timely, and have a frankly unhealthy obsession with making sure that people like the work I do for them.

Focus on what matters

Academic writing, reporting, and funding applications can be exciting and motivating, but it also involves tedious and repetitive work. I want to help take off some of the burden of the less inspiring work so that you can focus on doing what matters to you.

Bespoke writing

I have the expertise and knowledge to adapt my writing for a variety of academic, NGO, and governmental styles and requirements. I plan my work to involve multiple check-in phases in order to ensure that what I am doing is consistent with what you want.

Coaching

I personally found the mental process of finding the motivation to finish drafts to be the most challenging part of academic writing. I can help you set deadlines, streamline your writing process, and create accountability methods to get you from draft to final text.
